Britney Spears allegedly got the Iceberg Slim backhand when the pop star attempted to ask Victor Wembanyama for a picture on Wednesday, according to a report from TMZ.
According to the report, the incident went down at approximately 8:30 at the Catch restaurant in the ARIA hotel. Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari, were entering the restaurant and as they were doing so spotted Wembanyama, the no.1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft. She went over to Wemby to ask him for a photo and as she tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention, the Spurs Director of Team Security, without hesitation, backhanded Spears, which knocked her to the ground and sent her glasses flying.
The report adds that after the blow, Spears was able to compose herself and went to her table. The security director subsequently came to her tablea and apologized, saying, “You understand how it is when you’re being swarmed by fans.”
He claimed he had no idea who she was when he dealt the backhand.
A police report was filed with the Mtropolitan Police Department, alledging assault.
